“Merry, wake up!”

Opening one eye, Merry struggled to comply. The room was cloaked in darkness, and next to him on the bed, on the side nearest the wall, lay Pippin. Although he was not so much lying, Merry soon realized, as wriggling, supplemented by vigorous clutching.
